Snow Bunny

I have another card today using The Cat's Pajamas Skating Bunny stamp set. While I was creating it I realized that it also fits the "plaid" required in the TCP Tuesday (126) Challenge (I've already done one for it). I stamped the bunny figure skater onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock, added some stripes to her scarf with a Copic Multiliner pen then colored all with Copic Markers. I gave her a fuzzy nose with Flower Soft and a fluffy tale with a tiny white pom pom. I found the Quickutz skate die in my stash. After punching, I "laced" some Divine Twine through the holes of each skate.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp, Basic Grey, Webster's Pages and Scenic Route dp,Cosmo Cricket and Maya Road chipboard, Ranger Stickles, Quickutz die, Flower Soft, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Body-RV10, RV11, RV13, 0; Scarf-G40,G21; Ski Boots-BG0000, BG10, C3, C5; Shadows-C1

I don't have a lot more time for creative efforts for the rest of the week.  We've been doing a ton of projects around the house that we've neglected due to the extreme heat of the summer.  Not a lot of fun but definitely gives me a feeling of accomplishment.  We're having to do a lot of things ourselves that in past years we would have paid to have done.  Every little penny saved helps these days.  I hope you are having a great week.

Something to Warm You

Today's card fits The Cat's Pajama's Tuesday (127) challenge to use the colors of Teal, Olive and Eggplant. Honestly these dark color tones are not normally within my comfort zone but the prints from both Cosmo Cricket Pixie-licious and Mitten Weather definitely made it easier. I also went back into my stash of Club Scrap cardstock to complete the color array. I stamped The Cat's Pajamas A Cuppa image with Memento ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock. I then restamped the apron portion of the image onto the Cosmo Cricket dp.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and Cutups, Cosmo Cricket dp, May Arts ribbon, Basic Grey pearls, PTI button, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Bear-YG91, YG93, YG95, E50, E51, E53; Cup/Drink-BG10, BG11, BG13, E55, E57

I hope you are having a great week.  There is a break in the hot weather here and it actually feels more like fall.  We're taking this opportunity to get some much needed things done around the house.

Catch a Star

Today's project features a beautiful image by Tiddly Inks "Fairy Fae Catches a Star."  I wanted my card to have somewhat of an ethereal look so I chose patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather 6x6 pad. I printed the digital image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.  I then cut it out with a Spellbinder's Nestabilities, sponging the edges with ink while it was still in the die. I haven't notice anyone else coloring in a scarf on the fairy's hair but that's the way it looked to me. I added a few jewels to the stars in her hair as well the ones she is trying to capture. I found some fun old products in my stash too, the Scrapworks round clip and the Lil Davis glittery chipboard stars. It amazes me what I actually own sometimes! I followed the basic sketch for this week's Tiddly Inks Challenge. This also fits this week's Crazy 4 Challenges to use bling.

I hope your week starts off great.  I wish I could complain about it being Monday but I still don't have a job.....sigh.

Baby Yourself

Today's card feature's a design I've actually had in my head for a while and this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge to "create a scene" provided the impetus to get it done. I stamped the My Favorite Things P.I. Rinse Lather Repeat image with Memento ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers. I cut it out trimming closely around the edge and then applied a combination of Polar White Flower Soft and Ranger Frosted Lace Stickles to represent the bubbles in the tub. After completing my main image I then used a Spellbinder's Nestabilities to cut out the felt to represent the rug and Quickutz dies to create the frame around the sentiment as well as the vase and flower. The chair is a digital stamp by Louby Lou.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp, Louby Lou digital stamp, Making Memories dp, PTI felt and cs, Quickutz dies, Flower Soft, Ranger Stickles, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E0000, E00, R20; Hair-E51, E53, E55; Bathtub-W00, W1; Bubbles-RV00; Shower Cap-RV00, RV10, RV11; Sponge/Duck-Y21, Y23, YR04; Chair-BG0000, BG10, BG11

Actually, a bubble bath sounds like a good idea right now.

Sea You

This is my third card using this The Cat's Pajamas Whale of a Time stamp so obviously it is a favorite.  I was inspired to use an array of brighter colors as shown in the TCP Tuesday (125) Challenge piece below.

I stamped the image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers. I cut it out and then placed it in between the three layers of waves created by the TCP Wave Cutup. Note that I also emulated the pencil "points" with the use of the sun's rays.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp and Cutups die, My Mind's Eye, Cosmo Cricket and Magnolia dp, Strano ribbon, My Favorite Things Die-namics (sun and cloud), PTI cs and buttons

Copics-B0000, B93, B95, B97, R22, R27, R29

I hope you all have a great weekend.  As always, I really appreciate you stopping by my little corner of the internet world.

Deadly Ninja

Did the title get your attention? I loved The Cat's Pajamas Skating Bunny stamp the minute I saw it but what really put it over the top for me was this fun sentiment included in the set. Today's card features the "plaid" required in the TCP Tuesday (126) Challenge. I stamped the figure skater aka ninja onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock, added some plaid design work to the scarf with a Copic Multiliner pen then colored all with Copic Markers. I cut into my new Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather 6x6 pad for the patterned paper. So many cute designs in this pad! The 6x6 size is just about the only new paper I allow myself to buy these days.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas Stamp, Cosmo Cricket dp, PTI cs, button and twill, American Crafts ribbon, Heidi Swapp jewels, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Bunny-BG0000, BG10, BG11, RV10, RV11; Boots/Skates/Scarf-R35, R37, R46, C3, C5

I have at least three more color schemes in mind for this fun stamp so you will definitely be seeing it again soon.

Happy Fall Ya'll

After a long hot summer the first day of fall is finally here. Actual fall weather in the deep south starts much later than in other parts of the country. Even so, one can still feel the change in the season as the days are already shorter. And although it's still hot here, it's definitely cooler than it has been.

Here are my top 10 favorite things about fall:

1.  The fact that we can sit out on our deck in the afternoon without passing out from the heat or get carried away by mosquitos
2.  Alabama football
3.  Colorful leaves
4.  Dark nail polish
5.  Pumpkins
6.  Long sleeves
7.  Terracotta pots filled with mums
8.  Halloween
9.  Open windows
10. Chili and soups

Now on for today's fall themed card. I printed the C.C. Designs Sweet November Spindle Mossyrock digital image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers. The felt leaf was cut using a Cuttlebug die/embossing folder I picked up at Big Lots for $2. Love a bargain!

Products: C.C. Designs Sweet November digital stamp, Imaginisce and Jillibean Soup dp, WRMK tag, May Arts ribbon, Cuttlebug die/embossing folder, PTI cs, felt, button and twine, Copic Markers

Have a great first day of fall!

Snow Flake Fairy

Good morning! Today I have another Christmas card using the new Crate Paper Snow Day collection. I just can't seem to stop using it. It really doesn't even look like I've hardly touched my 6x6 pad even though this is the eighth card from it!  The Sweet November Bramble Lastleaf digital stamp isn't really a Christmas image but I decided she would make a cute elflike fairy.  I printed the image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers. I added some small white pom-poms where the circles were drawn. For some reason I always cut these particular stamps out after coloring and today was no exception. I followed this week's All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge sketch for the basic design.

Products: C.C. Designs Sweet November stamp, Crate Paper dp and chipboard, PTI cs, Heidi Swapp jewels, Copic Markers

I hope your week is going great. I'm off to a job fair.

Seeing Stars

Happy Monday!

Today's project is for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club which is a "super star" theme. I used the MFT Star Die-namic to create a banner from felt and some Jenni Bowlin star stickers as my main "star" motif and then repeated it the red October Afternoon patterned paper. I've used one of my favorite Pure Innocence stamps "Being Cute is What I do". I paper pieced her clothing and then colored the rest with Copic markers.

Catgirl II

This is the second time I've used this cute Tiddly Inks image.  I really reached far back into my Halloween stash for these patterned papers!  I love both of these companies, Doodlebug and Ki Memories.  Today's card is for this week's Tiddly Inks challenge to include an animal or pet.  Well this little cat girl is definitely not a pet but she is just enough scary cute for my young recipient.  I printed the Catgirl digital image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.

Copic X-Press It Review

I tried out the new Copic X-Press It cardstock on this project.  Although it looks and feels a lot like my favorite coloring medium which is Bazzill Simply Smooth (formerly Prism) it does color up a bit differently. First of all, even the lightest color went on very dark for me.  It does dry light but it can be a bit disconcerting when you first apply it. I really thought the whale from The Cat's Pajamas A Whale of a Time was going to be dark gray instead of the light gray I intended. As you can see he turned out fine. The X-Press It stamps beautifully with Memento ink; I cannot vouch for other inks since I use Memento exclusively with my Copics.  I will definitely use the X-Press It again but I don't see myself giving up on the Simply Smooth just yet.

I followed this week's sketch from the Mojo Monday Blog although I flipped it vertically. It was fun to mix up the different papers from four different manufacturers! And I am totally loving the star die from My Favorite Things. And you can't say I waste a thing - when I trimmed the star strip to fit, I had two little stars left over so I added them to my ribbon treatment.

Products: The Cat's Pajamas stamp, October Afternoon, Teresa Collins, Cosmo Cricket and Scenic Route dp, My Favorite Things Star die, Copic Markers, PTI button and cs; Heather Bailey felt, May Arts ribbon

Have a great weekend!

Snow Day Crate Paper Style

Today's projects feature more Christmas cards using the 6x6 pad and matching chipboard from the Crate Paper Snow Day collection. This group is all snowman themed.

First up is my card for this week's Sketch For You to Try.  This little guy is awfully cute with his jaunty scarf! Jaunty is not a word you hear a lot, is it?

And here are two more:

Products: Crate Paper dp and chipboard, PTI cs and buttons, Kaisercraft and MME jewels, Spellbinders Nestabilities, misc twill

I hope all is well with you.

Happy Birthday

Today's card is a girly girl birthday card.  I printed the Tiddly Inks Cheery Q digital stamp onto Bazzill Basics Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers. The Heidi Grace paper has been hiding out in my stash for a long time.  It feels great to put some of my older papers to work!  I created this for the current Tiddly Inks Challenge (birthday card or invite).  Hopefully I'll get this one in on time - had an oops moment last week with this card.

Products: Tiddly Inks digital stamp, Heidi Grace patterned paper, PTI buttons and felt, The Cats Pajamas Cutups, May Arts ribbon, Ranger Stickles, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

This is my second post for the day - first time that has ever happened!  My first post is here in case you missed it. I hope your Monday wasn't too bad; it was a productive one for me. Thanks for stopping by.

O Christmas Tree Crate Paper Style

Do you remember right after my Christmas in July month when I said I was going to do a Christmas card each week until I had all my cards all done for this year?  I haven't.  Do you also remember when I said I would not buy any new holiday paper this year because I had so much already?  I have.  Although not as much as I have in the past. I just really couldn't resist the new Crate Paper Snow Day so I purchased the 6x6 pad along with the matching chipboard. Love that the paper is double-sided so you really get great value from that little pad! Plus there are so many patterns which can be used for non-holiday themed cards. However, unlike other 6x6 pads, the patterns have not been scaled in size; they are simple 12x12 sheets cut into 4 pieces.  Most of the designs are small anyway though so it really didn't effect the design process for me.

To make up for the fact that I've been a real slacker on the Christmas card front, I have 4 to share with you today with even more coming later on in the week.  Today's set feature a tree theme.

First up is a card I made for the current Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge; however, I did flip the sketch to make a portrait style card rather than landscape. I stamped the Christmas tree image from the Taylored Expressions Wings of Joy set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock, then colored with Copic Markers. I trimmed around the image and mounted it onto a matted circle created with Spellbinders Nestabilities.

All the rest of the cards were created using the matching Snow Day chipboard as the centerpiece.

Have a great week!  Later!

Wishing You Well

I needed better eyes for this!  I really strained to figure out where the greenery ended and the flowers started!  I stamped the Papertrey Ink Autumn Abundance image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers. I found the tag in my stash and stamped the greeting from the Papertrey Ink Vintage Picnic set, breaking up the sentiment into 3 lines rather than the one so it would fit. I followed this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

Products: Papertrey Ink stamp, Pink Paislee and Jillibean Soup pp, Maya Road ribbon, Fiskars Border Punch, Stampin' Up ticket punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Take Care

I struggle with Get Well type cards but find myself in need of two of them right now.  This one is for a male which means double trouble for me as I also find it difficult to make masculine cards.  I stamped the Papertrey Ink Vintage Picnic apples image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers.  I paper pieced the basket from the same set using Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper and added some "grass" using a Martha Stewart border punch. I adhered everything and then cut all with a Spellbinders Nestabilties circle. The sentiment came from the PTI Autumn Abundance set. The cork and string used for the scalloped border is from my stash.  The card is based on a sketch for this weeks Sketch For You to Try blog.

Products: Papertrey Ink stamps, scallop die and buttons, Cosmo Cricket, Imaginisce and Jillibean Soup pp, Martha Stewart border punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Apples-E07, E08, E09, 0; Leaves-YG91, YG93; Shadows-W00, W01

I hope you have a great weekend.  We're excited here for college football.  Bama is renewing an old rivalry with Penn State and we can't wait to watch it on Saturday night.  No tickets (sad face) as some of them are going for as much as $1000 a piece.  Roll Tide!

Under the Sea 5

This is card number 5 and the last one in my Under the Sea series. I printed the C.C. Designs Sweet November Treasure Tempestwind digital stamp onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers. She is mounted onto a Martha Stewart paper doily that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to add a punch of "sea" color to the background paper. The small shells are from a My Favorite Things P.I. set.  I stamped them twice and then folded to make a crease clam shell style. I placed a pop dot underneath one side so it would appear to be an oyster opening up to show off its gleaming treasure. Afterall, this girl loves her jewelry and simply can't get enough of pearls. But she prefers to shop for her jewels in the sea rather than at Tiffany.

Products: C.C. Designs Sweet November digital stamp, My Favorite Things stamp (shells), Webster's Pages pp, Kaisercraft pearls, Martha Stewart paper doily, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, PTI button, Ranger Stickles, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E0000, E00, E02, R20; Hair-E53, E55, E57;  Tail-YG91, YG93, YG95; Top/Shells-R01, R02, R05

I hope you've enjoyed this series. Each of the images I used have a companion animal of which I did not includes in most instances.  The next set will feature their bestie!

Have a great day!

Under the Sea 4

Today's card is number 4 in my Under the Sea series. It is somewhat different from the other cards in that there is not a whole lot of actual patterns on it.  But I think it may be my favorite of the whole group. I printed the C.C. Designs Sweet November Ocean Wavedancer image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers. I really brought out some older products from my stash to assemble the card. The "water" paper is somevery old Sharon Sonneff paper that I've been hoarding for years! I combined it with some new Echo Park patterned paper. I can't tell you how long I have had the netting and don't remember why I even bought it in the first place. I just ran across it when I was actually digging around in a drawer looking for something else. Does anyone remember these bubble thing-a-ma-jiggies from Ki Memories? Yep, had those for a while too. I thought they made nice air bubbles and positioned a pearl behind each one to add to the illusion.

A foolish fisherman thought he would capture this reheaded beauty in his net but she was much too fast and clever. Like she would ever let a mere man catch her anyway! Phffft!

Products: C.C. Designs Sweet November digital stamp, Echo Park pp, Kaisercraft pearls, The Cat's Pajama's border punch, Ranger's Stickles, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E0000, E00, E02, R20; Hair-YR12, YR14, E97, E99, R29; Tail-YG11, YG13, YG17; Top/Shell-R01, R02, R05; Fish-YR12, YR14, E97, E97, W00, W5, W7

Happy Hump Day!

Tiddly Inks

Today's card fits this week's Tiddly Inks challenge which was to either create a fall or an end of summer card. Even though fall is just around the corner, now that it's a bit cooler here I am not yet ready to give up summer.  It's been pleasantly warm and and sunny here so I made this card with that in mind.  I printed the Tiddly Inks digital image onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.  I did some out of the box cutting with my Spellbinders Nestabilities. Some stitching, ribbon, pearls and buttons and it was done.

Products: Tiddly Inks digital stamp, Cosmo Cricket Delovely pp, May Arts ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, PTI buttons and cs, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Thank you for stopping by. I'm hanging in there.  What about you?

Happy Labor Day!

Good morning and a Happy Labor Day to those of you in the States and Canada!  Thanks to my readers, I just found out yesterday that Canadians celebrate labour day too.

Whether you are the stay at home mom who spends her day wiping butts and noses, the clerk at the local 7-11, a secretary, the bank president or a mechanic toiling away at the shop, you are special. And important. Since there is nothing more patriotic than someone who goes to work everyday to support their family (especially in this tough economy), I created today's card with the colors of red, white and blue.

I stamped the My Favorite Things Being Cute is What I Do with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock. After I paper pieced her clothing there wasn't much left to color with my Copic Markers.  I followed the sketch for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday stamp challenge.

Products: My Favorite Things stamp, Pink Paislee, Daisy Bucket, Creative Imaginations and Scenic Route patterned paper, PTI cs and buttons, Jenni Bowlin Studio star stickers, American Crafts ribbon, Quickutz label die, Kaisercraft and Making Memories pearls, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Copic Markers

Copics: Skin-E0000, E00, E02, R20; Hair-E53, E55, E57, Shoes-R32, R35, R37

Have a great day today.  I am a bit out of sorts and cranky. Thank goodness I can lose myself in crafts!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Fairy Dust

I have wanted to combine one of the C.C. Designs Sweet November fairies with this patterned paper ever since I picked up the paper at my LSS. I love the cool colors combined with a pop of black. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic markers. I made my fairy into a bit of a drama queen with her silver hair. The Prima lace was a light grey which actually matched but I wanted a touch more green in the card so I sprayed it with some Tattered Angels (Olive Vine) Glimmer Mist. Did you notice that I matched up the diamond shapes on the background with the stamped piece?

I think this is my second time ever to combine challenges so it is definitely a rare occurrence for me. I know it's considered ok to do so but I always feel kinda funny about it, especially when there are prizes involved. This card follows this week's Mojo Monday Sketch as well as All That Scraps Wednesday challenge to use lace.  Of course, after all that effort to change the lace color, I covered most of it up with the stamped piece!  The MM sketch was suppose to be a square or a circle but I made it into a rectangle.  I haven't given up on the square shape but I donate some of my cards and the rectangular size is easier to mail and therefore the most requested. Instead of adding the corner piece as indicated on the sketch I just allowed the ladybug in the design to represent it.

Products: C.C. Designs Sweet November stamp, Creative Imaginations pp, May Arts ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, Prima lace trim, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Stampin' Up punch, Copic Markers

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are having a great Labor Day weekend. For my readers outside of the U.S readers, that is an American holiday. Don will be playing golf on Monday so we plan on putting the baby back ribs on the smoker today.

Under the Sea 3

Today's card is another Under the Sea theme.  I have several of these images but this is the only one that I actually have the rubber stamp, the rest of them are digital.  I actually prefer rubber but I liked all of these so much that it just wasn't monetarily possible for me to purchase all of them.

I stamped the C.C. Designs Sweet November Pearl Tidepool image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Bazzill Simply Smooth cardstock and then colored with Copic Markers. I cut the image out and added pearls to her hair.  I did not have the coral and peach colored pearls that I wanted so I colored some white ones with Copic markers.  Just another reason for me to love Copics!

Pearl is smiling because she loves to travel the seven seas, never staying in one place for very long.
